£3,000 raised from Sponsored Walk!

On a sunny Saturday afternoon in September  fifteen supporters of Kernos walked from Putney to Tower Bridge in our biggest fund-raising effort to date. The route took us along the Thames taking in Battersea Park, the Houses of Parliament and the South Bank before ending at the Tower 10 miles later. Our party included two mental health link workers who work closely with Kernos, staff and  volunteers from Kernos including one person in a wheelchair and a border collie -  and we all managed to finish together.

CMHT Sudbury join forces

Several mental  health workers from the Sudbury Community Mental Health Team are joining with the staff, volunteers and friends of the Kernos Centre on their sponsored walk from Putney Bridge to Tower Bridge. Kernos Director Peter Brown said "We are delighted they are joining our group and walking in support of the service we provide, and helping us to raise funds".

Sponsored Thames walk for Kernos

Supporters of the Kernos Centre are digging out their trainers (in many cases not used for years!) to walk along part of the Thames to raise money for the charity. The walk is 10 miles from Putney Bridge to Tower Bridge and takes place on Saturday 24th September. We would welcome sponsorship of any amount, however small, to encourage us on our way.

You can donate via text by typing KERN32 followed by the amount (if it's £10 or under), or via www.justgiving.com/kernos-walk.  If you would like to join us then there are still a few places left on the coach.

New counsellor joins Kernos team

Kernos welcomes Anne Dennis who started counselling for us in April this year as a volunteer counsellor. Anne also works as a lecturer at West Suffolk College.
