Kernos has been busy recruiting additional counsellors over the summer in order to reduce the waiting list for new clients. We are very pleased to welcome Julia Westoby Annette Davy and Tracey Woolf to the counselling team.
Julia has had considerable experience as a counsellor and has decided she wants to endure the drive from Newmarket weekly to join our team. Not only are our clients from increasingly farther a field our counsellors are too!
Annette already juggles working at the Institute in Colchester two days a week with two children and a hectic lifestyle to join us in Sudbury.
Tracey has had experience at East Suffolk Mind and the Norwich Centre where she still works. Her weekly commute from Diss is also an indication of her commitment to our clients.
Two junior counsellors will also be joining the team in October as part of their training and will be supervised by the Director of counselling Chris Boatwright.
All counsellors will be working initially in a voluntary capacity. Fundraising is badly needed in order to be able to permanently retain a larger number of therapists to meet the heavy demand for affordable counselling in our community. We know there is a need we just need the funding.
