Every effort is being put in to reducing the numbers of people on Kernos' waiting list, many who have been waiting for over 6 months. The rise in demand for our services is increasing faster than our ability to raise funds and has led to us temporarily closing our books to new low-fee paying referrals until the waiting time is significantly reduced.
Adolescents however are still being accepted as the Suffolk Foundation has generously continued to fund this service for 50 counselling sessions in 2009. Adults able to pay the full fee of £35 are encouraged to refer themselves and by so doing are helping to maintain the viability and ethos of the Kernos Centre as the counsellors donate part of this fee to the funding of those who are less able to pay.
