Great news, the Centre has been awarded a most generous grant towards our project 'Stopping the Abusive Cycle' by the Suffolk Country Council Single Gateway European and Social Fund – Global Grants scheme. We are extremely grateful for this funding which will enable us to deliver a programme to work with victims of abuse as soon as they are referred.
This project is specifically focused on clients who are experiencing abuse now, or who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse, emotional abuse, and physical abuse, including domestic violence. The resulting feelings can be of isolation, low self-esteem, and that they are to blame and consequently worthless. They can experience depression, anxiety, self-harming behaviour, suicide attempts, withdrawal, lack of life skills, and difficulty in functioning in the wider world.
This project enables us to be able to work with the victims of abuse as soon as they are referred to us. Counselling interventions, along with information and support can raise confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, and the ability to cope with life events.
