Sudbury Mercury Readers nominate Kernos to receive £1,000 from Tesco!

In November last year Tesco pledged £1,000 to a local charity - voted for by 'Sudbury Mercury' readers - to celebrate the opening of a new Tesco extension. Kernos was very pleased to receive most nominations and Chris Boatwright collected the cheque from branch manager Andrew McNamara and president of Sudbury chamber of commerce John McMillan - at the same time as cutting the ribbon for the official opening of the larger store. The £1,000 will be used to pay for 30 counselling sessions at Kernos.

“Whose name”? Cryptic Quiz results

Our Christmas Quiz this year was on the theme of commonly used forenames. We run this each year as a Christmas fundraiser and we hope that many of you enjoyed pondering over the questions with your mince pies!  It was won by Lynn Neil, a Kernos supporter, who was the happy winner of £50.

Priority is being given to seeing those on our waiting list

Every effort is being put in to reducing the numbers of people on Kernos' waiting list, many who have been waiting for over 6 months. The rise in demand for our services is increasing faster than our ability to raise funds and has led to us temporarily closing our books to new low-fee paying referrals until the waiting time is significantly reduced.
