Double D Quiz for Christmas

It's that time of year again, and once more, Kernos has released a fundraising Quiz for you all to enjoy - and depending on how well you know your Double D's - there's a £40 prize in it too!

Pick up the sheets from Kernos (32-34 Friar Street, Sudbury), and have a go (e.g. Question = "Talking Rubbish" - Answer = "Double Dutch").

The entry fee is £2.00 per sheet, and the closing date for entries to be received back at the Kernos Centre, is the 12th January 2008.

Sudbury Quiz Winner! February 2007

The ever popular Christmas Quiz has been won by a local library lady!

It’s going to be cakes all round at Sudbury Library, as librarians celebrate a four- year act of kindness that has reaped an unexpected dividend.

When members of Sudbury’s Kernos counselling centre arrived at the library in autumn 2003 to ask librarians if they would help out by selling copies of the charity’s first ever Christmas Quiz sheet, the answer was a sad and regretful “No”.

“It was against regulations,” says librarian Sandra Curtis.

Babergh District Council Community Energy Project Community Chest Scheme February 2007

We  have been successful in obtaining funding from the Community Chest Scheme to enable us to take on a new Counsellor. This will help us to reduce the waiting list and to work with more clients each week.

We are extremely grateful for this award because it provides us with support for 2007 and 2008. The other benefit it is that this funding is not restricted to any particular client group. This means that it gives equal access to funding support for all of our clients from Sudbury, Cornard and the surrounding villages.
