Counselling Service

Access to counselling can be by referral from a GP, healthcare worker, an agency or by self-referral.

Individual sessions are provided in a safe confidential space with experienced professionals with specialist expertise in a number of areas.

The cost of counselling will be met by the client if they have the means to pay, or by follow-on-funding, charitable donations, or a combination of the above.

The therapists at Kernos are able to work with a wide range of needs; there is expertise in working with depression, anxiety, childhood trauma and abuse, eating disorders, self-injury, relationship difficulties.

With Humanistic values as the therapeutic principle counselling at Kernos is integrative and encompasses a variety of approaches including Client-Centred, Inner-child, & Cognitive-Behavioural where appropriate.

Other Services

Self-help meetings and support groups for service user such as child-hood trauma, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Workshops on relevant topics, such as assertiveness, anxiety management, are arranged according to demand.

Clinical supervision for health care professionals either self or agency funded, individual or group sessions.

Professional Development training, workshops and seminars are provided both by visiting professionals and by members of the clinical team at The Kernos Centre.
